The Rocky Mount Police Department uses Flock Safety technology to capture objective evidence without compromising on individual privacy. RMPD utilizes retroactive search to solve crimes after they have occurred. This technology detects license plates and vehicles only. It does not detect people, gender, race or facial recognition. Data collected is used for law enforcement purposes only, is owned by the Rocky Mount PD, and is never sold to third parties. Further, prohibited uses include immigration and traffic enforcement, harassment or intimidation, usage based solely on a protected class like race, sex or religion, and personal use.
